Swabbing of Wells
Very often an operation on dropping the level of fluid in a well is
integrated with hydrodynamic researches.
Prior to swabbing an autonomous manometer installed on an uncoupling device
or on a suspension is lowered into a well with the aim to register the
dynamics of fluid level dropping in a swabbing well.
In the process of staying on a fluid level build-up curve (FLBC) it may
be regulated with geophysical instruments or a sonic depth finder.
1 - tubing; 2 - packer; 3 - geophysical cable; 4 - well device
on a cable; 5 - packer modulus; 6 - well device
on a cable; 7 - logger lift.
The alternative scheme of a job - a tester plus swab - is an effective method
of carrying out qualified researches. In a set with testing equipment and
a packer, the manometers and deep sampling devices, if needed, are lowered
into a well. Then a multiple process of fluid level dropping up to the
given depression values by swabbing is performed. At that the inflow comes
only into a tubing space which considerably reduces time on dropping the
level of fluid in a well. With a help of testing facilities as well as with
a geophysical packer-anchor which cuts the inner tubing space (See pic.),
there is an opportunity of registering the FLBC with the aim of receiving
detailed information on filtration and capacity properties of an object
under study and also on the state of a critical area of a well.
